I’ve been listening to silverchair since I was 15. What I truly love about them (and Daniel, really) is the evolving musical styles and tastes, which have grown up alongside me. As an angsty teenager, their early grunge music appealed to me. As a grown man in my 30’s, this new direction is more my current style. I truly feel bad for the homophobic whiners posting on here about how he’s “wasting his talent” by “singing in falsetto” and “not playing grunge”. The fact that he can sing in different ranges and write music of completely different styles only proves that he IS incredibly talented. Do you really want a 35-year old man to still be writing songs about getting picked on in high school? Is that what you, as an adult, still want to listen to? Grow up and enjoy some music for adults.

Daniel Johns of Silverchair releases a pop album? I was skeptical at first, but, after a blind buy, I am now a firm believer that this album is a masterpiece. Sadly, that likely means that it won’t receive the recognition he deserves.
- Insanely Good Album!

This album took a few listens, then I started to really understand it and appreciate the delicacies and musical nuances. Daniel Johns voice alone is exceptional. With good headphones, this album will blow your mind, unless your living in the past.
- Incredible!

Why this man is not popular in the United States I have no idea. He’s so underrated. New York, Faithless, Dissolve and Preach are everything. Give this record a go, you’ll love it.
- I close my eyes to this amazing sound every night

I am so shocked and happy with this new sound I know some of the old fans of silverchair are not feeling it but at some point you have to evolve or you will fade into obscurity
- Amazing!

Properly setting expectations for the album is really important. I’m not the same person I was when I was 15, so I certainly don’t expect Daniel to be either. If you’re looking for crunchy guitars and melancholy lyrics you should move on or be severely disappointed. I’m one of the lucky ones who have enjoyed his evolution from early Silverchair to his current solo career.
Talk shows moments of brilliance, but it’s too long by half. I’ve read that Daniel prepared a few dozen tracks before settling on this mix; I really wish he would have culled a few more. High points: Dissolve, Going On 16 and Preach.
- His voice is great….

….but this music overall is not enjoyable to listen to. I am sure this artist will find his way because he is obviously talented, but this album is just not it.
