This girl had something to sing about! Luvin on this album.
  • A few great tracks

Most of the album is pretty simplistic—basic cookie-cutter rock/country—but there are a few standout tracks. “Our World, Our Times,” “Sonny Say You Will,” “Song Instead of a Kiss,” and “The Last Time I Saw William” are beautiful examples of early ’90s power pop, and I’d highly recommend these to anyone that likes that genre. I probably wouldn’t buy the album today, but there’s enough really great tracks to make up for the filler. I’d give it ✭✭✭½ if that were an option.

    I can't believe it's not more popular.

This album is possibly the most formulaic recording in the history of time, and I love it. All the songs are cliche', the arrangements are predictable, the performances rock but are cookie cutter. Notwithstanding, your head will bang, you'll turn it up, and Alannah's voice cuts through like a chainsaw through cottage cheese. Campy, but delicious!

This album was the followup to Alannah's much more successful disc, which featured her signature song "Black Velvet." This album is definitely not bad, but not as consistent as it could be. That said, one track, "Song Instead Of A Kiss" is one that really deserved to be a hit. It's a gripping ballad with an amazing strings-based introduction (some of which is featured in the 30 second clip) - you actually can't hear any of the vocals but trust me. This is a "song" that someone will find and remake one day!
