- Too much stylin'

For my taste which isn’t anything, some of the songs have too much "musical stuff”… I feel that if I were a musician I might enjoy the extra stuff, but it usually just completely disconnects me. I don’t think I would listen this album much like I listen to the Clear the Stage album….. so not a buy for me.
- Amazing!!!

I've always liked Jimmy for his unique style and fresh lyrics, but this album doesn't connect with me at all. I would have preferred a gradual switch in styles over several records rather than a complete flip all at once. Definitely disappointed since I am a huge fan of Not Without Love, Nightlights, and Clear the Stage.
- Fantastic

I think Justin Timberlake just had a kid with the entire genre of gospel. Keep up the good work Jimmy!

As a Kickstarter backer for this album, I am disappointed with the content and style. With regards to content: I agree with others when they say that this project just doesn't have the lyrical depth that his past projects do. I own all of his albums and there is just nothing memorable here save the title track. Also, I know you love your wife Jimmy, but why can't you sell the love songs as singles? Maybe, I wouldn't have minded their inclusion so much if the other songs had more depth, but when there are only ten tracks (I never count his spoken word) and at least three of them (Only You, Forever and Ever Amen, and Better Man) are so personal, it is hard to relate. The first Jimmy Needham song I heard was Firefly, so I am not anti-love song. And I know there are a couple on each of his albums, but they stick out like sore thumbs here.
With regards to style: Initially, I refrained from giving Needham's music a try because his musical style is so different from what I usually listen to--Christian Alternative/ Rock and mainstream CCM. However, his lyrics hooked me and I ended up getting used to his style. He's definitely changed his sound here and it is hard for me to listen to again; this time there are no deep lyrics to hook me, either.
I don't like to criticize Christian artists because most of them are writing and singing what God calls them to write and sing. I am sure that is the case with Jimmy here, but I just wasn't feeling Vice and Virtue.
- "All I need is need" is amazing!

I've never been listening to an album on Spotify thinking, "I need to tell this artist, somehow, how great they did on album." But I'm doing it now. Jimmy, you don't know me, but well done! I love this album. I love you as an artist, but this album in particular killed it. I think you've had richer lyrics in the past (I specifically loved all your spoken words), but musically this album is fantastic.
- Omg.

So good. Not only from a vocal standpoint but from a songwriting angle as well as an overall sound/vibe. Album flows together greatly and has distinct purpose in it’s composition. Need more of this on Christian radio, but more than likely it will stay the same ol “love” songs by the same artists with little to no substance. Jimmy is truly gifted, regardless of radio play or notoriety. Do yourself a favor and really soak this album in.
