This album is great. While focusing on a single subject, Darnielle and the Mountain Goats cover a wide range of emotions and feelings, from innocent childhood heroism (Chavo Guererro) to senseless loss (Stabbed to Death), tempered with a mix of songs that are as varied as a violent adrenaline rush (Werewolf) or a simple life with a comfortable end (Bull Ramos).
