I watched the HBO documentary last night "Packed in the trunk: the lost art of Edith Lake Wilkinson (what an incredible artist!). Danielle's songs from this album were the soundtrack, and it stopped me in my tracks. By the end of the documentary I downloaded the entire album; I had never heard of Danielle Ate the Sandwich. I've been listening to the songs all day today, and find each song very moving and hang on every word. I'm an artist too and it's very inspiring for me.

As with her previous albums, great melodies, tranquil listening. Great poetic lyrics.

Danielle has the voice of a siren calling sailors to leap off their ship . It's ethereal and dreamy . The songwriting is SOLID and I look forward to seeing the movie .

Isn't it great when you think one of your favorite artists couldn't get any better, and then she does? Danielle Anderson is a wonderfully talented songwriter (absolutely one of a kind, funny and heartbreaking, sometimes all at once) and has such a beautiful voice. On "The Drawing Back of Curtains" she has raised her game a couple of notches. Captivating stuff. Surrender!

From start to finish, "Curtains" is an exhilarating exhibition of musical experimentation. I play the album for my students while they are working or when I am grading. It is peaceful, calming, uplifting, and definitely worth its listed price. Great job, Danielle.

From the very onset of the vocal harmonies on the opening track, followed by beautifully poetic words pining Where There is Light, you know you are listening to something special. Danielle Ate the Sandwich is phenomenal, and her skill shines brilliantly on this album.
