Thinking Man's Jazz . . .

This could be called the ' Thinking Man's Jazz ' for its nuanced sophistication and charm. Eschewing barn burning jazz marine swing for more of a chamber music approach, this is a very fascinating and enjoyable album. The title is perfectly apt, as these wonderful compositions are a ' bridge ' between many musical worlds and genres making for a truly delightful and inspiring set of tracks. The album also TAKES you somewhere you have never been before and that is a very good thing in my humble opinion. Bravo Shawn Maxwell !
