I don’t know why I’m even bothering with a review, because my feelings about this album can’t really be expressed in words. It’s dark, mysterious, angry, tranquil, chaotic, organized, frenetic, relaxed, terrifying, and beautiful all at the same time. I use a lot of my free time to discover new music, and I’ve listened to albums that have blown my mind, but this is on a completely different level. One sign of a good album is how well it ages. Take Death for example; they haven’t made new music since the 90s, yet their music feels fresher and more original than almost all death metal albums released now. However, this album is different in that, despite the fact it’s a year older than I am, it still sounds like it’s from the future, and I’m still caught off guard by various sections despite all the times I’ve listened to it.
