Like a lot of people, Mountain was my introduction to this band. I got the EP as soon as it was available, and now the LP.
Atmospheric, propulsive, emotional and melodic, all without being twee or cliche.
HalfNoise hit that sweet spot occupied by bands like Anathema, Mew, Gregor Samsa, or Sigur Ros who can please everyone from pop fans to metalheads without pandering or compromising.
Naked, honest emotion wrapped in well crafted music. Let's hope this is only the beginning.

I first want to say congratulations to Zac for this release. I didn't know what I was expecting when I was told to listen to this. I must confess it wasn't what I expected but it surprised me in the best possible way. I guess I didn't know I wanted to hear something like this so badly. Thank you, Zac, for making this. I hope you see that you have so much talent. I look forward to hearing more. This should be a must buy.
