A True Return to Form

So many reviews will say, of new releases from bands that have been around a long time, that their new album is a return to form (read as - their signature sound) when, in most cases, it really isn't. So, not to be cliched at all - I do have to say that this album exceeded my expectations and took me back to 80s/90s Erasure perfection. After the truly disappointing Tomorrow's World, this album just blew me away! The new songs could've easily come out of the 80s - amazing sound and lyrics and just pure Erasure fun! The remakes of the classic Christmas songs were wonderful as well - the cherry-on-top being Gaudete, which could've easily have come from the Crackers International EP. Standouts, for me, are Gaudete, Make It Wonderful, and Loving Man. Of course, the Innocents will always be my favorite Erasure disc, but this one is definitely in my top 5.
