Or should have been. I stumbled onto to Stooges like somebody else said, think I listened to it back in the day but it was forgotten. Yeah, essential. Along with raw power. think I'll get the album or a cd and make it a wav, sorry mr tunes.

I can tell you with certainty this is my favorite album of all time, from any artist of any genre. Rock music doesn't get any better than this. Most Stooges fans seem to favor Raw Power over this album, but not me. Don't get me wrong, Raw Power has some stand out songs, but over all I don't find it to be as consistently hard-hitting as Funhouse. The songs "Loose" and "Down on the Street" are the Stooges at their best. R.I.P. Dave Alexander, Ron Asheton & Scott Asheton.

There's just something raw and dirty about this album. Between the snarling guitar, the punishing saxophone, and above it all Iggy Pop's unmatched primal screams, this album is not for the faint of heart. This album is like crowding into the bathroom stall of a sleazy bar to snort some blow. This album is like rough, unprotected sex with a stranger in a dark, dirty alley at four in the morning. This album punches you in the mouth and when you fall down it kicks you in the ribs. This album is a slow descent through the levels of hell, and when you finally meet the Devil you find out he's learning to play the sax and yep, he's gonna make you listen. But this could very well be the greatest rock and roll album of all time.

I'm shocked how incredible this is. 19sixtyseventysumthing? The only modern equivalent to this sort of power that I can think of is Jane's Nothing Shocking or Nirvana's Nevermind and I'm not even sure that either of those really measure up to this. This is a carpetbombing soundtrack. I used to think that the Stones and Zepplin were the edge of this period, but g-dam if they ever came close to this. Fun House alone puts all of your sixties collection to the torch. Closest description I can think of is James Brown + Rolling Stones + Velvet Underground. Yeah, cheezy, but seriously listen for yourself.

Raw and primal, this is absolutely balls-ro-the-wa** Rock and the template for the punk revolution of 1977. Not much to say, really, just be sure to get this one now.

One of the greatest and most underrated rockin roll albums ever! This is great music for chilling and driving around. Dirt by far is my favorite track, Iggy's vocals are amazing!
