I started listening to what is now called "classic" rock when I purchased the album Queen by Queen when I was eight BUT this album since then kicks butt! I haven't listened to this whole album since about 1981 but it's like it was yesterday and I still know all the lyrics! Phil Lynott you rocked!! RIP (Rock in Peace)!!

So somebody that has his own opinion isn't entitled to it? I don't have a favorite album because they are all amazing but my two go to albums are black rose and nightlife…there I said it!

This album never got the recognition it deserved in the U.S. It is my favorite Thin Lizzy Album. I mean, "Jailbreak", with the exception of three or four great songs, was just alright at best. "Johnny the Weed..." was an interesting concept album. And, to the guy that said that he liked "Nightlife" better, is all wrong. The band itself hated "Nightlife" so much that it was reluctant to put it on CD. This is truly a great album all the way through.

30 years after it's initial release Gary Moore returned to Thin Lizzy and blew the grooves off the Warner Brothers US release I had got at Sam Goody. His death was a major Major hit to guitarists everywhere. If you buy one Thin Lizzy Album with Phil and Gary THIS IS THE ONE TO GET!! Hands down one of the greatest albums ever made.

Unquestionably one of the best albums Thin Lizzy recorded. Phil Lynott is at his best, and whoa the guitar playing is mind-blowing. All the songs are strong, with my favorites being the rockers. Very aggressive guitar playing with lots of harmonies - you can hear exactly how they influenced bands to come later.

Black Rose is not that great. Likes: 1. Guitars are great! Dislikes: 1. Phil's voice 2. Too much bass
