First of all, I didn't always love C&E. But I like their evolution. The first cassette and Another Minute not so much even though it was my best friend's favorite, especially The Echoing Green...But fell I in love with Trip after I moved to San Francisco. Then Innermost Station. And then The Sunrise EP appeared and I'm so glad they put it out. It's mellow but driving, dark but light and it's especially a pleasure on my drives from San Francisco to Sacramento. Highly recommend it.
  • Better C&E albums out there but this one is good.

The Sunrise EP is probably at a tie with Trip as my two favorite albums from C&E. Stay is my favorite track on here, but it's pretty solid straight through albeit more laid back and subdued than on previous albums. Rob Rowe's vocals are silky smooth and sound better than ever. Keith Milo's music production is at it's best. Of the remixes, the Halou version of Long way Down is tight. New and old fans of C&E should definitely check this one out, it won't dissapoint.

I also believe Another Minute was by far the best effort from Cause & Effect. It's not widely known that the band was only two guys, Robert Rowe (Vocals and Guitars) and Sean Rowley (Piano, Synthesizers, Vocals). Tragically Sean Rowley passed away during their initial tour back in 1991. I didn't look this up but remember hearing about it on my local alternative radio station (I'm old). I was a real fan of the band and remember them saying Sean had an accute case of asthma and basically succumbed during a performance in a small smokey club. Listen to the second album (Trip), song #1 is "it's over now." Same great voice without the genius backing synthesizers. How good would Depeche Mode be without Martin Gore? (See Dave Gahan Paper Monsters) I miss Sean, but respect Robert Rowe for continuing the legacy. If you love synth bands, find a copy of "Another Minute" by Cause & Effect. It goes right next to Depeche Mode "Violator."

Classica Cause & Effect is missing. What is iTunes doing about it??? Nothing...and looking outside of iTunes is necessary!
