The BFers third album showed that they were ready for the next step. Although their record label (even today) could never figure out how to market this band, Pursuit is a great album. That does not take away from Tales or Van Go- also great albums. Pursuit showed off all of the band's skills including Country Dick's great fun songs as well as Jerry Raney's classic guitar sound. Joey Harris added another great guitar. It was pure magic.
Download this out of print album now. Hey, the band will probably never see a dime thanks to Curb but the music lives on. Hey, Curb- re-release this album with the Home of Country Dick as a bonus feature. Better yet, talk to Jamie Dawson and release the BFer documentary.....don't be so cheap!
- A change, but still great

These guys could belch out recitals of the phone book and I'd still be happy. This album definitely was a change for die hard BF fans who were used to the gritty, rockabilly/blues bar-bustin' band that we loved from the Spring Valley Inn days. Joey Harris brought a pop sense to the band, a total opposite from when Buddy Blue was with the group, yet there are a few gems in this record. Hollywood Hills and God Is Here Tonight are required listening. Contrary to the iTunes review, the Beat Farmers had several more studio releases following this.
