I was introduced to GEMS by a friend of mine. Their music is deep, introspective, haunting, brilliance. I saw them live tonight, and they are quite down to earth in person.

A mind blowing debut from two obviously individualg gifted musicians who together make magic. Few artists can ever hope to make music that changes lives, but I believe the voices on this album have the power to do just that, speaking honestly and simply about the collision between ennui, love and memory.

I saw them last week when they opened for Tycho in Minneapolis. I can’t wait to see how their group takes the world by storm. Talk about an eargasm :D

Heard their song, "Never Age," while shopping in Uniqlo and it put me in a trance. (Thank you Shazam). Listening to their music pulls me into a different world. Love the vocals, the echoy sound. It's feminine, deep, and soulful.

I bought this EP on a whim, based entirely on the song previews without having any background knowledge of the band. Several days later, I'm still struck by how skillfully crafted the music is, from the coexistence of the female and male vocals, to the small instrumentations that contribute to the overall sound yet are barely perceptible. I'd describe it as a really good blend of Beach House and Wild Nothing, both bands known for their dreamy pop sound. So although I've just recently stumbled upon GEMS, I'd honestly recommend giving them a chance, especially if you're a fan of the genre. Definitely worth the purchase.

beautiful dream pop with some haze… definite necessity for fans of cocteau twins or phantogram / beach house… super impressed w/ this EP.
