Bob Flannigan was the best lead voice and certainly more than a competent bass and extrodinary trombone player. His ego would never allow him to get a talent that could match his qualities. Lead singer Stegeman was hired for his ARRANGING as some of the works here shows. His talent for writing in the style of Bill Holman, and the rest of the arrangers of the old Freshman sound was what caught Flannigans eye...eh, ear.

Very good in the Freshmen style. If your'e really interested in the Four Freshmen sound, buy their new CD; In Session. It is the best group of 'freshmen' that I have every heard.
