I remember when I first heard this I could swear Ian Anderson played that flute!

If I were to go back in time and start my music education all over again, I would still want this album to be one of the ‘gateway drugs’ to all the great music of the time, and what was to follow. The orchestration of instruments and vocals are not only haunting but present. Sorry to get all metaphorical, but as you listen you mind opens to new pathways in music. I won’t name other bands here, but this is definitely top 20 in my 80’s starter kit. Do yourself a favor, and listen to the album all the way through at least twice on a road trip or at home with some down time, maybe camping, before you start picking one song or another!
  • Unbelievable

It's hard to categorize an album that uses such a broad spectrum of instruments and styles, but this is quite possibly one of the best complete albums I've ever heard. There just isn't a song that detracts from the album as a whole. Put this album on with the lights off and some candles and you are guaranteed to have some hot sex. It's also so great to hear all the other people that love this album, it is really special...
  • An Essential Classic

A great and varied work from beginning to end. This is a shining example of how the sequencing of album tracks creates a larger masterwork.
  • In a class of its own

Someone else said it perfectly... "I just keep coming back to this album." I'm not even a huge L&R fan, I just love this particular album and have had it in various formats since it came out. Originally I think I dubbed it to tape from the vinyl my sister bought. At any rate, it is in a class of its own. It has stood up very well over time and sounds as fresh today as it did the first time I heard it. It's not for everybody, but if you want to take a risk on a recording with a BIG upside give it a try. I envy people who get to hear it for the first time.
  • Classic Album

My favorite album - Daniel Ashes vocals are transcendent. I especially like Waiting For The Flood and The Light. This album was a classic in the 80's and gets better every time I listen - which is often.
  • Love and Rockets' masterpiece

More than just a collection of songs, Earth Sun Moon is a beautifully crafted album, each song has its place. Don't download these songs individually; they really must be listened to within the context of the whole album. A true masterpiece.
  • Supreme effort of 80s Alt

I don't know if everyone will love this album upon first listen. But let me tell you this: You will love it for the next 20 years, just as I have. I scour Itunes looking for more music like this. It takes me back to midnight drives on wet summer evenings where you let the both the heat and the music carry you on. These guys didn't just make music, they made a pure mood. Dark, thoughtful, melancholy. It makes you feel, as well as listen. One of the best.

This is some of the best 80s alt rock you'll ever hear. Just check out the following: No New Tale To Tell Here On Earth Mirror People Welcome Tomorrow Lazy Waiting for The Flood If you aren't convinced then, I don't know what else to tell you. 80s or not, this is one awesome band. Bauhaus was just the beginning. The talent of these three individuals is limitless at best. If you like this, then go get the rest of their stuff. If anything, definitely check out "Express". That whole cd rocks. This album and that one are their very best.

I still have a picture from a live show. One of the greatest songs ever written.
