This is a Great Album, Classic Ventures, Crisp, Clean, everything you would expect from this band. If you are a Ventures Fan you will Love this Album. Even if you are not a die hard Ventures fan it has several of the great hits that will bring back some cool memories. Even if they were not on the beach.

I didn't even have to buy this album to know that I don't want it. The one song I have been looking for that isn't on a live album is The Cruel Sea, and this re-record doesn't do it justice at all. None of these are originals, they are re-records. Granted that The Ventures still rule, but this CD just doesn't cut it. I guess I'll just have to keep playing my old 45.

I am constantly amazed by the Ventures. They still tour and play great versions of instrumental or vocal hits. This CD has some of the best variety of the Ventures. I'd call it a "sampler". HOW COME THESE GUYS ARE NOT IN THE ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME?????

Now this is real music, talented artists not the 'junk' of today. The Ventures were the best. I grew up with them. While other friends were listening to the Beatles, the Ventures were my group.

Normally, you don't want to mess with the original. And I don't really like the packaging, which makes the buyer think he's getting the old stuff. But as long as your clear that these are re-recordings ... they're great. The songs are more polished, and have some great little flourishes. The collection of songs can't be found anywhere else, and the versions aren't so far from the originals. Amazingly, this collection works if you're a Ventures die-hard or a grom.
