The Isakov Rabbit Hole...is well worth falling down. There's not a single song I don't love on this album, or any of the other albums for that matter, but the ones I love with chocolate sprinkles on top... O' City Lights, She Always Takes it Black & who doesn't want, A Suitcase Full of Sparks?!!! Google the video in YouTube: gregory alan isakov before the winter fires, to hear a gorgeous version of She Always Takes it Black. Then if YT automatically streams Isakov crooning a cover of The Trapeze Singer, afterward? Well, welcome to the rabbit hole! :O)

I bouth the song Amsterdam because I heard it at the opening of "Girls" Season 6 on HBO and it was absolutely beautiful...this version is flat as a pancake and really disappointed.
  • Thank you Subaru commercial.

Gregory Alan Isakov has a gift that is just unbelievable. His music is not only beautiful to listen to 24 hours a day, but has wonderful stories woven within them. I saw him live and was absolutely blown away, and I met him after and he was nothing but humble. Amazing!

As I write this, I'm in the bedroom of a farmhouse in the Shenandoah Valley. Let me say, this music is a perfect soundtrack for the entire Valley, towns and sweeping fields alike. I've always called this place my home despite never having lived here. GAI's music brings me home like no other music, and for that I'm glad I stumbled upon him three years ago.

So powerful it will make you weep, and you don't even know why. Grab your best set of headphones. Lay back... Close your eyes. Jack in and dive into oblivion.

I'll admit it! "Time will Tell" brought me to tears. Yep! Watching a Subaru commercial. Just having endured a personal tragedy that song helped me ease some of the sorrow. The "Weatherman" is a calm breeze in a turbulent time.
