John Simon's Album

this recording is truly a forgotten gem. actually i think it was too mature for most listeners in 1971. great songs, great arrangements, a stellar cast of musicians (leon russell, derek and the dominos, members of the band and delaney and bonnie are all over this record i bought this when it came out and i would just play it over and over (especially the "song of the elves". that's gotta be leon russell playing lead guitar at the end ) "the motorcycle man" "davey's on the road again" i realise that once again this album is too mature for today's mainstream taste but an open mind and a taste for something different would be well rewarded by listening to this recording

A great forgotten album... this download can now replace my recording of the original vinyl which I imported into itunes. If you like late 60's, early 70's music, this will be a find.
