- Personal favorite FNM album - Needs a Reissue!

This was the first FNM album I heard and to me it is still the best. In 1987, this album was insanely different, much like Angel Dust was in 1992. This album has all 5 guys giving it their all. It has the best lyrics and earnestness in the vocals while also simultaneously being dark and humorous. This is also Jim Martin's best work in the band. This album is screaming for the Deluxe re-issue treatment that every other album has now gotten except for Sol Invictus. I hope to see a remaster with bonus tracks soon (there are plenty of remixes from this era, as well as the bouns track New Improved Song and live recordings of decent quality).

These lyrics arent simple, the guitar riffs arent boring, the bass isnt holding back and the piano isnt sitting there to look pretty. What I love about this album/band is that every member is trying to get their part heard almost as if their all fighting to get a lead part. They all contribute to the music so well and it shows
- The Real FNM!!

After Chuck left or got booted I never jumped on the Patton train I loved these goofy songs and they still hold up,I've tried to like the Patton era and of course there's a few songs I can listen to,but in my opinion they lost something when they gained the fame

Patton was awesome but chuck made listening to this album a whole lot of fun. Chinese arithmetic is one of their best tunes ever.

Hey! WHAT? WHAT? WHAT? Yeah...Chuck is a better lyricist than Patton-in your dreams. Maybe people who prefer this guy over Mike Patton just prefer simple music made for simple minds. I'd be willing to bet that in addition to this album, your music collections also feature plenty of Nicki Minaj and Justin Bieber.
- Not their best, but still worth getting

It may be because "The Real Thing" was my first taste of Faith No More, but I really was not impressed all that much by this album. I really enjoyed the music, and the lyrics were not too bad. However, Chuck Mosley's voice on most of the tracks sounded more like he was drunken karaoke performer than a vocalist.
Not to say that the entire album is bad because of the vocals, because it is not. There are some solid songs, such as the title track, "Introduce Yourself", and the song that is best known from this album, "We Care A Lot". But, I don't recommend just buying those tracks, the entire album is worth buying, especially if you are a Faith No More fan.
- No Patton, but still a classic for sure

Metal, punk, funk, and it's Faith No More! What else do you need to knows besides Chuck Mosley sings in this album. Sure he is not Patton, but his punk attitude is a highlight on this album. Their second album is what was new and different from other metal and punk bands. Recommend it for any fan of FNM or metal music that can be funky and thrash. This is almost as good as the real thing. Roddy's keyboards are definitely better than The Real Thing as well. Such a good album that shouldn't be ignored.
- FNM has about 4.5 best albums

And this is one of them. Love Patton, he's got a broader range, but many times I think he's a lousy lyricist compared to Chuck mosley. Love Jim Martin, he's a huge part or their sound. It's too bad he's a baby.
All in all the songs are great. Mosley has all the personality and musical talent to make up for vocal ability. This is a must for any bungle/Patton/fnm fan.
- A Classic

I stopped listening to Faith No More right after the first time I heard Mike Patton. Chuck Mosley rules. I've been lucky enough to see him sing with both Faith No More and Bad Brains (yes he was, for a short time, HR's replacement in Bad Brains).

This is my favorite FNM album. The other reviewer who brought up FNM regressing after this album with The Real Thing was spot on. Check this out, give Chuck a chance. He's awesome.
