I loved this band since Boxer but this album has the great simple yet multilayered catchy songs. Its like Boxer added w the sophistication of High Violet. Also Trent Reznor stole the Grammy from this record. Its a classic, if there will be a category of such soon. Haha

- The Absurdity of Fame

This album's narrative sees Berringer and the rest of the band reluctantly accept their new-found fame, and proceed to drift about their confounding existence exploring the frightening confrontations that arise from recognizing "people now know us", and all of the complex emotions that compound and accompany such a stark realization. 'Trouble Will Find Me' is a brooding existential masterpiece; filled to the brim with melancholy and longing. It is a quintessential exploration of the absurd pathos of fame, and will quite assuredly stand the test of time as one of the greatest albums of the last 20 years.
- What a beautiful surprise!

I have eclectic taste when it comes to music. I don’t know a lot technically about music, but I know what I like and what speaks to me. Oddly enough, I heard of The National through The Mindy Project, and thought to check them out. One listen to Trouble Will Find Me and I am a fan for life. This music is transcendent. It immediately soothes my soul. Thanks for the medicine.
- How can you not love this

Their style is truly unique. The depth is beautiful and if you are not listening on headphones you have truly missed half of the music,
- Brilliant but very depressing music

You have to be in the right mood to listen to any given National album. However, I feel that Trouble will Find Me is their most darkest album yet. It's very eerie mixed with melancholic undertones that paint a rather dark picture. Sometimes it's enlightening and thought provoking other times I feel as though I am being pushed to the brink of an existential crisis. They're brilliant and the lyrics are eloquently sung throughout each verse but once again it's very subjective and you have to be open to that kind of music. I wouldn't listen to this album if you're having a bad day or are getting over a breakup.
- Great music will find you

I bought High Violet on the strength of "England," a fantastic song. Though there are other good songs on that album, it is fairly dull in spots. Not so with Trouble Will Find Me. Great production and songs that take you from simple chords to soaring, intricate melodies are the norm here. None of the songs are predictable, but they are infectious, haunting, and endlessly listenable. I am glad I bought this album---it is a great one.
- Did they have a track on the AMC show Turn?
