I just now noticed that Momus is on iTunes! They performed most of this live (including Super Mario Bros) at my high school when I was a junior. They are all excellent musicians and this is an amazing album, especially for undergraduates. In case anyone was wondering, the Mario Bros theme just accidentally 'happened' - they were in between takes for the album and the lead just started playing the theme by ear; about 10 minutes later they had it together and decided to put it on the album for kicks.

My band director told the trombones to get a good recording to listen to so we can learn from it. I have found it! I listened to the preview and was entranced by the beauty of the sound. The tones are great, the music balanced, and face it, trombones are the best! The Mario Bros. theme made me laugh, it was great, and its true that trombones and trombone players are usually the goofier insturmenalists.

This is a fine album with much to offer. If you are serious about trombone playing our have a small brass ensamble of your own, most definatly give this album a listening too. Great recognizable, easy on the ear music! Keep up the great work guys!

This is pretty good music, and its probably just because we trombones are special and perfect in every way. Well, most of us. And Rock N' Roll Head, be more open minded. You don't have to like it, but you should at least respect it as music. I can't believe that there are such closed minded people outside of the death metal section....

This album is one of the best displays of trombone musicianship I have heard in a long time. The music is well balanced, and the way the quartet displays total control over every aspect of their instruments is truly amazing. I suggest buying the entire album, for you will not be disappointed if you are a fan of trombone, or of classical music in general. As for selection I suggest the third movement of the Kaxik piece: "Finale", as well as the Klebe piece and the third movement of "Quator Pour Trombones". Also, I think the "Super Mario Bros." theme is brilliant, and it kind of gives a little bit of silliness to the album, and anyone who has ever played trombone or knows trombonists will know that for the most part, we are a silly breed.

I must admit that I have never been a big fan of the trombone before. But the level of musicianship displayed in these selections is astounding, and the arranging is itself masterful. Well worth the price.
