100% 5 star rating makes total sense. For those deciding between original or delux version - the later one worth all the money, and more. I often think what would their music be like now, if Layne and Baker were still with us.. Thank you Mad Season for this timeless masterpiece. I hope there's more somewhere in your music vaults <3

This album stands up with Alice in Chain's "Dirt" and Stone Temple Pilots's Purple. Fantastic album. Layne Staley at his best.

One of the most haunting albums I have next to Mark Lanegan's Whiskey for the Holy Ghost. River of deceit might as well be solely about Layne Stanely due to the lyrics. I don't know anything is my favorite track on the album. Lanegan guest on a couple of songs like long gone day which is an awesome track but, the whole album is great. Not one bad song. If you're a fan of Alice in Chains, Screaming Trees, or Pearl Jam get this. You won't regret it.

Sad loss. This is the stuff that people will remember what kind of talent touches you. I came across this album last year. A Must Get if you were a AIC or just a Layne guy.
  • One of the best of all time.

This album is beautiful, I'm getting to know Layne some more and am thankful, particularly for the live material. This bluesy album presents Layne's vocals more up front and clear than in Alice In Chains. I've been listening to it front to back for a few days, and sleeping with it, as well. The guitars at times are reminiscent of Hendrix, to me. Just a great album, through and through.
