Skip this album in favour of this band's previous releases, namely those featuring the Whitacre titles. In comparison, this one was rather disappointing, especially the (trite/possibly misunderstood?) latin works. cnductr: not a musician anymore, retired and now just an avid aficionado of a few college bands, and reviewer for a local paper though I was at CCCM under Corporon back in the day. I have nearly all this group's previous releases, and most of them have been better.

'Great job guys! Excellent playing with difficult repertoire/styles and with exceptional control & artistry. Love the Witch and Danzon tracks. I saw a review comment about not enough low end on this recording: probably a tuba player - no worries; 'just upgrade your headphones tuba guy. Keep up the great work UNLV!

Very much in agreement with the above. Also, the levels and balance of the entire ensemble was complete wrong. It was lacking a low end completely. Not sure if it was the band's fault or an editing faux pas, but it was not enjoyable.
