This is truly a timeless classic. I have it on record also. This is a welcome addition to my I Tunes library. Sit back with glass of wine in hand and turn the way back machine to 1986 and enjoy!

I saw them live at Athfest this June. They did not disappoint. Great show, which they made perfect by closing with Cattle Prod. Buy this and any other GCD album you can. "It won't hurt!"

GCD got a fair amount of airplay in the SF area in the 80's (thank you KUSF & KALX)! From the very first cut, this album will have you hooked -- great sound, great vocals. Back in the day, side one was the mellow first 6 trax that sucked you in with smooth hooks. The last 6 tracks were side two -- definitely the demented Dr. Jekyll side. It is hilarious!! One of the great albums of the 80's

This one's in the Top 5 of my all time favorite albums. Still played with enjoyment after almost 20 years. Oh no- has it been that long?!?!

Guadalcanal Diary was an Excellent band. Jamboree is a great ecclectic album full of great songs and conscious while also having fun. Dark and bright tones help develop the rich character you will come to appreciate out of the more serious and lighter topics... the lyrics are just as important as the music throughout the album. Jamboree led the way for the masterpiece 2x4 that would follow this highly regarded album. If only the label hadn't complicated things, they may have experienced what REM and The B-52's and breifly Dream So Real, and Drivin & Cryin went through. Yet despite the label issue... you could always find every Guadalcanal D. Concert Totally packed. I saw them a bunch of times in Norfolk,VA @ the Boathouse, and they were excellent live.

Litany, Litany, Litany. We still want your 2x4 album digitized. My favorite all-time concert was the concert they held at Georgia Tech. It ranks higher than the Urban Shakedancers stealing the show from the Black Crowes at an Atlanta Pot Festival, which sucked because they signed up to tour with the Grapes as they left Atlanta. Thank you for these two great albums. Very cool in many ways.

WOW, finally after all these years it's available digitally. This is by far the best Guadalcanal Diary album (and I own them all). The wordsmithing is excellent and paints a picture better than any music video could ever do. For a couple of guys who formed the band to write songs about the Civil War they really stretched it. They were a great band to see live.

Another great band from the quirky 1980's Georgia music scene! These guys (and girl) grew up along side the shadow of R.E.M., but their distinct sound was never eclipsed. Their music was an eclectic mix of hillbilly punk, alt-country, and melodic folk that I have never heard anyone duplicate. This album goes across the spectrum from the dark melodic ditty "Please Stop Me" to the punk/thrash of "Cattle Prod". If one album was a soundtrack to my high school years growing up in GA...THIS IS IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
