The best of The Smiths sound with a contemporary vibe. Well done, Marr!

I am an old Smiths fan and think that there are only a couple of Smiths-like songs. So if you are a Smiths fan you will have to have an open mind (and not be disappointed) since Johnny Marr has obviously evolved over the years. And this evolution is a great thing in my opinion. This album took me a couple of listens to grow on me and now I am hooked.
  • Amazing Tracks. Great Guitar Riffs

Would love to hear a Richard Lloyd/Johnny Marr collaboration. Marr is a more melodic, less angular Richard Loyd. No knock on either of these great artists.
  • Love It!

Like many other people who have been commenting, I am a die hard Smiths fan. In light of that, I will try to contain my bias and write a fair review. I would not say this is a 5 star LP. It is not among the likes of legendary albums like The Suburbs, OK Computer, or Meat is Murder. However, there is not a song on this album that I dislike. Each song is different enough from the last that there is no mid-album lull. I think this finally establishes who was the driving force behind The Smiths. I would recommend this to anyone.
