If Santa's sleigh had a sound system, he'd be playing "A Joyful Noise"... and the reindeer would be very happy!

It's like he took Christmas, bottled it up, and turned it into a record. Well done, Terry.

The CD opens with two fairly straight forward (and nicely arranged) carols. Terry's arranging degree shows off on the odd choruses of "Jingle Bells" where Eric Marianthal displays what a wonderful addition he is to this project. "Little Drummer Boy" gives us a little south of the border/flamenco flare which is very original and well done. "Home To Myself" (one of my favs) is performed ever so delicately by its original artist Melissa Manchester at a slower tempo than originally done but this leaves room for some tasteful fills by Terry and the band. I wasn't crazy about this initially but the more I listened, the more I found it to be a beautiful arrangement! "Breath of Heaven" is my fav on this CD. This is a beautifully crafted song, arrangement (reharmonization) and performance. This piece is worth the price of admission. Skipping forward to "This Day" let it be known if anyone is looking for a new, fresh, beautiful and meaningful song for their wedding THIS TUNE is it! "Greensleeves" is a wonderful mixture of early English folk and jazz. My regret with "Silent Night" is that Mr. Wollman arranged this one close to the vest. It's nice, but it could have been more. "Holy Night" is an original by TW and the percussion groove is what gets me every time on this one and the way Mr. Wollman delivers the melody with the expertise of a Tommy Emmanuel. "Some Children See Him" is in the class with Breath of Heaven. Melanie Taylor delivers the words beautifully and the the tenderness of an angel and sounds like one too. Terry's work (and arrangement) are brilliant. So get in your mind's car and drive down Jazz Avenue with Terry. You'll be glad you did! "The ORANGEMan"

I just finished wrapping my gifts while listening to this gorgeous album by Terry Wollman. Each arrangement is a soothing musical balm to the craziness and stress of the holidays. I loved the balance of instrumental and vocal, as well as the unbelievable quality of Terry's playing, and that of his musical guests. The soulful rendition of "Some Children See Him" by guest vocalist Melanie Taylor was sublime. This record will definitely be on my Christmas playlist for years to come.

This album has very familiar songs, which is easy to listen. I used to have a Christmas album with lyrics, so this great instrument album, especially amazing guitar sound, is very special to me. I bet you can enjoy this album any location and any mood.

Terry's fresh take on these Christmas classics inject new life into the contemporary jazz genre! This is NOT A BLUEGRASS GOSPEL ALBUM! I hope iTunes corrects this soon so that no one is misled. As always, Terry has amazing musicians and guest vocalists supporting his lush, bright arrangements. There are also some non-traditional songs that revive the Christmas music genre. This audiophile recording will please the most discerning listener and is a great addition to any collection! Beautiful job Terry!
