When I listen to Mr. York perform his compositions, I am overwhelmed by the beauty he reveals. His mastery of his instrument is of course remarkable -- but what is truly breathtaking is his mastery of sound and of silence itself. His soul shines through each note and in the spaces he clears between the notes. It is rare to find a musician who is so capable. It is even more rare to find a virtuoso instrumentalist who is also a composer, a composer who generously gives us "unapologetically beautiful" music. If you have an opportunity to hear him perform in concert, don't miss the chance!

York does a masterful job in articulating the complexities of our emotions into pure feeling. Through his music, he does what language is unable to do, that is, pure expression. His virtuosic knowledge of the guitar is near incontestable, and with it he channels unadulterated passion. And it is gorgeous. The title track, in particular, is remarkably beautiful. Listen to these tracks with some good speakers/headphones and a drink, and lose yourself in the music for a moment.
