This was the last album with the classic Fates lineup of Matheos, Alder, Aresti, Dibiase,and Zonder. Very well crafted from writing, to performance, to production.

A solid, if not spectacular release along the lines of Parallels. Most of the songs make for great listening, and as you examine the musicianship of FW, you realize that they don't just play instruments, they craft something special. Every song on here, while not as heavy either their early or even later works, really grip the listener. Of course, Monument is by far the best song of the album, but it takes nothing away from the rest of the album. Monument starts to point Fates Warning down the path of their future releases, most notable, A Pleasant Shade of Grey. Buy it and you will not be disappointed.
