Reviews

  • Great album, bad mastering

Aeon have produced a great album, packed with tight death metal reminiscent of classics like Morbid Angel and Deicide. Their playing is precise and brutal. The lyrics aren't anything outstanding but they are delivered with intensity which is what counts. Unfortunately the experience of listening is mostly ruined by bad mastering on this iTunes release. The volume of the tracks varies greatly - the first track is so quiet I have to crank my headphones or car stereo almost to 100% to hear it loud. The second track comes in too hot and I'm reaching to turn it down before it blows up my ears. There are also one or two snare hits at the beginning of tracks that will get your attention. It goes on like this for the whole album. At first I thought it was my problem but I've checked it in multiple devices now. I would wait for a remastered version unless you like riding the volume control.

This is a great DM album! I have not heard of these guys until now but have immediately put them in the upper echelon of my favorite DM bands. Hopefully there will be a new album soon and am looking forward to seeing them live.

After hearing this for the first time awhile back I knew it needed to be in my collection. This is for fans of current Cannibal Corpse, thats all you need to know this is Cannibal Corpse 2.0 with a younger hungrier lineup,a bit more open to branch out their style and dare I say more interesting and discipherable riffs, possibly because they slow down thier style just a tad so the listener doesnt get lost in the overdrive speed some Tech-death bands do. Alex Webster has personally endorsed this band and I can definately see why. I'm a death metal fan of nearly 20 years, i believe this is a standout band. Also check out Severe Torture, Europes version of CC or Suffocation

I'm fairly new to this band but I'm about to change that with this album. They have became a standard bearer in the horror-ridden world of Death Metal and that's no easy feat. This album shows that you can still play traditional death metal and still be relevent. This album should be listened to by all thoses tech-death bands that think you have to play five different time signatures in a bar to be relevent. This is what it's all about. Pummeling drums and bass coupled with heavy as hell riffs is what makes us sickos smile a lot more than how many scales you know and how many times you can switch up a song before it no longer is one. And don't forget that this album is also against evil religion (which I appreciate greatly) and that only lends to the darkness on display here. Great production and mix and great musicianship makes for a game changing album for this band and I wish them well.. Crank it up!!

This is the perfect death metal band! Extremely fast, heaviest sound in the world, and this album is perfect! The first three albums were amazing, but I honestly thing the mixes weren't that good. I'm not saying I could've done any better and being a musician in a band, I know how hard they must've worked to get the mix to sound the way it did. But the mix on this album is litterally the greatest extreme death metal mix I've ever heard! The guitars are heavy enough and are in your face the whole time, the drums sound real and low and solid, and the vocals are just like a PUNCH IN THE FACE each time you hear it! It is PERFECT!!! If I ever have the opportunity to play in a band of this genre, I want the album to sound just like this album! It... is... PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
