Like so many others, I loved this film and can't stop listening to the music! It's a perfect blend of big "take me away" cinematic score and the excruciatingly beautiful, regional dissonance of Louisiana music. Don't just buy the title tune at the end; the whole album is stunning!

The movie is stunning, the music is intertwined with this beauty, they are one. I love the innocents you hear in the score and also the danger, the wander, the fantastic, all magically woven into a spectacular tapestry of art and sound. I put this soundtrack on while I'm writing. It's hypnotic and inspiring.

Despite the 5 stars I'm giving the soundtrack, I didn't like the movie at all. 30 minutes in, I got up to do homework at the table, but could still here the music from the movie. That was the only good part, honestly. The soundtrack blew me away but that was the only good part about this movie for me.

Contrary to previous reviews, this movie in no way condones or glorifies child abuse, it paints a very realistic picture of the way real people live in rural and out of the mainstream places. It is an absolutely beautiful movie, and the incredible soundtrack is half of the journey. This score is simply perfect. Thank you for making a movie about real people that has such beautiful music

The other night I was laying in bed unable to fall asleep. I was trying to decide whether i should go downstairs and sleep on the couch or stay up in my room. I listen to NPR's New Sounds every night and i was JUST about to go downstairs when they started playing the soundtrack to this movie. I didn't go downstairs. I haven't yet seen the film (although i really want to) but the music is simply amazing. Very original and like nothing i've ever heard before. It only makes me want to see the movie even more than i already do!!!
