Beth is a goddess. That voice is like a drill that cuts to your heart and makes it want to keep beating forever. That's the sound of raw emotion punching you in the face and then kissing it better.

I came across her song "listen up" in an episode of The L Word and I'm glad I did because she's awesome! Her voice is like a mixture of Heart and Madonna but with her own unique style. Love!

This past year I discovered Gossip (sad I know), and I absolutely love this album!! It has everything I can want and ask for. Great lyrics, pumping bassline, guitar and I can dance to it!! Now I am addicted!!!!
  • Old fans, don't discount this album.

This is a truly great collection of work. Listen over and over and I can't see how you won't become infected. This is a dynamic piece of work that is catchy and fantastic. I love it more and more... and more.

Gossip has lost the joyful noise of their earlier work. This album has all the heart of Goldman Sachs. It's just sad.

I had only really heard the free songs I had downloaded from iTunes and I had loved them instantly. I loved the strength and depth of Beth Ditto's vocals. I did read the reviews before I downloaded this album so I was prepared for a softer version of the music but I have to say I loved the music just as much. This to me showed the prettiness of Beth's voice and that was a nice surprise. My ab fabs are the last 2 songs and I do absolutely love them. Now I'm ready, based on the strength of this album, to go back and start purchasing the earlier music I'd waited on.

Gossip have always had obvious love for dance/disco elements, so I am not sure what people are complaining about. This album is a little overproduced, but I betcha it will sound pretty awesome live. Beth has never sounded better, amazing as always. These are just great songs that will fill a different spot in your playlist than their previous albums.

Very disappointed. I didn't think that they could put out an album I wouldn't buy, and I considered The Gossip one of my top 5 favorite bands. Beth's voice is amazing, but A Joyful Noise just doesn't sound powerful at all. The early albums had a simple almost rockabilly like sound and an edge. Music For Men was a little dancey and very different from the early days, but still raged on. This is very Kylie Minogue or Madonna, over the top girly dance club etc. Makes me so sad.
