This brilliant collection of songs from some of the finest singers, musicians, and songwriters today brings hope, refreshing, and upward-focus, starting with the opening track, "Waking Up the Dawn" (featuring Michael Farren from Pocket Full of Rocks) all the way through until the powerful closer, "Revelation Song" (featuring Jennie Lee Riddle and her daughter, Emily). The arrangement of "Revelation Song" here is stripped down to allow the majesty of the words and melody to shine through. Throughout this album, there are no weak or wasted moments along the way. Other highlights include the prayerful "Faithful" from Don Poythress, "When the Stars Burn Down" (featuring Jonathan Lee), and "Love Like This (featuring Jason Walker).
Stylistically, the sound ranges from folk, country, and Americana to pop and rock. I love this album for the sense of community in which it was produced and recorded. Great songs with a variety of sounds both instrumentally and vocally. My only gripe is that I can't get track 10 to play! Thoughts?
