This is my favorite album of all-time. I've listened to it for OVER a decade and I never get tired of it. He has a side project called O.S.I. and they have a song called "Standby (Looks Like Rain)" which is my all-time favorite song. His voice is haunting... his lyrics clever, and his music inspires and moves me.
- An all time favorite

This is one of my all-time favorites! Moody, textured, melodic, synthetic, organic, genius. How do you describe something like this?
- Melodic

The other reviewers have captured my sentiments but I have to chuck in my two cents - If I had to pick five CDs that I would have to listen to for the rest of my life, this would be one of the first I'd pick. The word "haunting" comes up repeatedly in the other reviews, for good reason, although would add another: engaging. I heard a rumor that after quitting Dream Theater, Kevin Moore broke up with his girlfriend, packed up a car and drove from New York to Arizona, whereupon he put together Chroma Key and recorded this incredible work. It may be fiction for all I know, but somehow I can hear the lonely car drive, the desert, the solitude, the confusion, and the sense of renewal. I don't care if it's fiction: here's a CD for anyone who can relate to those things, regardless of your musical taste! Give this genre-defying work a test drive and find yourself surprised. Trust me!
- Unclassifiable

I'm speechless. I think the only band that blew me away with their unique talent this much on one album is Children of Bodom. I was told they're good, but I didn't know what to expect. Being caught off-guard with music is more than a good surprise, it's a warrant for another album. And I'll be watching for that.

How can one categorize Chroma Key? Progressive? Electronic? Ambient? I would say it's all these and more. The music is melancholy and moody yet revitalizing and uplifting, and the lyrics are clever and witty. For fans of Dream Theater who always apreciated what Kevin Moore brought to the band, you can't go wrong with this (or any other Chroma Key) album. Though don't expect it to sound a thing like DT. For people who have never heard or never cared for DT, give this album a go. It is one of the most unique and creative albums to come along in a long, long time. (It's a shame iTunes doesn't have the latest CK album, Graveyard Mountain Home. If you like this album, try and check that one out as well. Amazing.)

OK. I own shall we say "boatloads" of CDs. More than anyone should possibly ever own, others may say. Chroma Key's "Dead Air For Radios" is WITHOUT A DOUBT my Number One Album of All-Time... with a bullet. Sweeping, melodic, beautiful, yet moody. Kevin Moore captures more emotions in this album than many artists do in their entire careers. If you think you'd like a fresh and original mish-mash of Tori Amos meets Pink Floyd meets Peter Gabriel meets David Bowie meets Trent Reznor... well, geez, $9 on iTunes is a FREAKIN' STEAL!! Enjoy often... I know I do.

Dead Air For Radios paints a landscape of quiet and stark beauty with demure vocals and haunting keyboards. Moody melodies converge with rich tones to form these compositions, which are often made curious by the samples of real conversations captured by Kevin Moore.
Mark Zonder and Joey Vera of Fates Warning contribute drums and bass, respectively. (Vera plays on three tracks and Zonder on all.)
- An amazing audio landscape!

From the atmospheric opener 'Colorblind' to the hauntingly surreal closing track 'Hell Mary', 'Dead Air for Radios' seems to take you on an audible journey… by some yet unknown mode of transportation. Kevin Moore, formerly of 'Dream Theater', has shown both courage and integrity with this first 'Chroma Key' release. The amazing combination of keyboards, percussion, electronic sounds, catchy melodies, and voice samples (that add a very unique natural tempo), make this album extremely hard to categorize. Highly recommended! So what are you waiting for? Download... Listen... ENJOY!
