Every day my favorite song changes. The whole album is exactly what I need to start my day, to get through the drudgery, or to just clean house. I can't say how much this album means to me. I bought all they're albums and love them all, but salt for salt is absolute perfection to my ears.

I discovered Brown Bird by accident through Pandora. It came out of nowhere and I stopped and thought, this is some really good stuff!! I was saddened that I discovered them too late, because what I would do to see them live! I cant imagine. I began with Salt for Salt and have ended up buying everything these two talented souls have made together. This is what love and love of music can be. Perfection as far as I,m concerned.

One night, I was listening to Pandora radio while doing my homework. I hadn't quite been paying attention to the songs that were played. But then I heard the most moving bass line I've ever heard—it was "Bilgewater". I very soon ended up buying the song...and then the entire album...and then most of the songs off their other albums.
Point is, Brown Bird is the band to come to for good dark folk music. DM3 is great, but Brown Bird's sound is so much fuller, despite having less people and instruments. It's a shame that Dave has passed away, as I wish I could've seen this band live. I always hate hearing about great musicians going to soon, and Dave Lamb was no exception.

Just saw them live in Baltimore! They opened for DM3, and I was honestly more blown away by Brown Bird than DM3!! So soulful - rock on!
