If you are a music fan, I don't care what genre you prefer, you will LOVE this album. Stoney is one of the very few artists who can explore every wonderful aspect of all great music. Buy this.

Starts off amazing then slows down a bit, but once listening to it about 3 times through, you'll discover that you'll love it! The music is phenomenal and his lyrics are good as well, he's an awesome music artist, and this album is defiantly worth the money spent
- Not what I expected

Iv been waiting for a new Stoney cd for years, and when I bought the album it's not the rockin album I expected cause I was so use to his live at Billy Bobs album but I'm a huge fan and seen him live all over Texas so I listened to the whole thing and love it. The music and lyrics are nothing short of a masterpiece it's not the Stoney I fell in love with when I first heard Oklahoma Breakdown, but it's a great move forward and shows his talent as a song writer and a musician!
- So disappointed

I am such a huge fan of Stoney. The Red Dirt album is really on of my desert island disks, one of the best albums ever. I just bought tickets to see Stoney in July and eagerly downloaded the “Velvet” album. So far is just is not growing on me. There is not one song on this album that sticks with me. I am rating it two stars versus one, because I still have hope it will grow on me.
- Give it a few more listens and...

You'll only listen to a few tracks. Actually just travelin kind. I hate to criticize too much, but it sounds like someone didnt give it enough thought when writing some of these songs
- Excellent

While certainly a milder version of the Stoney Larue we saw on the Red Dirt Album, Velvet is undoubtedly a big success for this talented musician from Taft, Texas. These songs are lacking some of the heavy guitar licks we have grown accustomed to hearing from previous releases and shows, but the songwriting certainly does not disappoint. Highlights include the title track, "Dresses", "Wiregrass" and "Way Too Long". Enjoy.
- Great album!

Am I the only one who's bummed out over this album?? I can't believe how disappointed I am. Been listening to it since it came out and it still hasn't even began to grow on me. Stoney's voice sounds different to me which is what bumms me out the most. His voice is what puts him in another world. It doesn't sound as unique and gut-wrenching as it used to. Total bummer.
