Have them all and still like Home and the first one better but this one is a great collection of BoDean gems. It does sound a lot closer to their 80's/90's sound then anything they have done this millennium so if you have not checked the boys out lately give this one a try and after that give Mr Sad Clown a couple of listens too.

The BoDeans have always told it like it is. As they begin to head into their 50's, their sound and lyrical themes have certainly changed, but they are still communicating the cold, hard truths of life in Springsteen-esque fashion. Only now, those truths revolve around both the joys and drags of being middle-aged. As you would expect, this kind of music generally only appeals to a likeminded and similarly-aged audience. However, they want nothing more. They decided a long time ago that they were going to stop chasing after a top 10 hit and instead please their fans. Whether that was a good or bad move, we'll never know. Nonetheless, they have once again delivered the same on this album. Best tracks are "Wrap Me", "Right Now", "Paved In Gold", "Father's Day", and "Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is". The production is basic and borders on being low-budget, but I guess it works for them. Their signature harmonies are still there, though not with as good of melodies to put them to use. Nice effort and surely a fan-pleaser, but the songs, energy level, and overall vibe just doesn't come close to the diversity of Home, elegant pop of Black & White, or youthful arena rock of Outside Looking In though. I'd recommend Home as a starting point if you're just getting into the band.
  • Itunes never posted this in new releases.

I think this album would have done a lot better, in sales if itunes would have posted it in new releases.

Great CD from a great band. Another evolution in their sound that still stays true to their roots. See them live as well. Great stuff guys...thanks for over a quarter century of great music.

A BoDeans fan since the 80's, I was so excited to see a new album. Loved 'Father's Day'. I agree, see them live if you can. They are playing this Friday 7/29 at Ravinia in Highland Park, IL. Can't wait!! They are the best show around.

I've been a BoDeans fan since they broke into the music scene in the '80s, and they are still one of the best live bands to perform. Indigo Dreams is another great addition to their library of music. Rootsy Americana without all the added "noise" from today's artists who feel like they have to over dub and produce. Kurt and Sammy don't stray too far from where they came from and that's a good thing for music lovers, and BoDeans fans everywhere. Favorite songs: Blowin' My Mind, Way Down and the chilling Father's Day. Download the album, but if you get the chance, catch the BoDeans live.

I really loved Still and Mr. Sad Clown. This album reminds me of the older Bodeans. The boy's can still harmonize like nobody else. If your a Bodeans fan, you will love this album. Just another great effort from Kurt and Sam. Saw the guys live last summer. Still the funnest and best band live. Pure Americana!!
