...But I like this sound. Paul is back with a new 2011 spin. Yeah he has a lot of influence from his old sound, and that's what makes it beautiful. He is unique again. He mixes everything very uniquely and he isn't just making pop to please the majority like he did for a while there. He is back to being an artist and I quite like it. He's back to liking artistry and I like that. I'll be listening for a while.
  • I LOVE this ! Best New Album from any DJ lately

Paul Oakenfold is THE DJ who introduced me to electronic music back in the 90s. I own pretty much all his albums. I've read a few people saying how it sounds "dated" . I disagree, its a refresh from overproduced current electronic music. Don't get me wrong there are some great DJs and producers now, but a lot of current electronic music and mixes suffers from being too "cluttered" , effect after effect; I just want a nice groove I can vibe too. Oakenfold forever!

Oakenfold put out something that I can listen too....I've been a fan since the late '90s but had to stop when he got a little too commercial and started making his own music (i.e. the last 7-8 years)...If you liked his earlier stuff - you'll like this too. Granted out of 41 tracks there's a couple I could do without - but overall - great stuff.
  • Oakey returns to his roots.

I give this 4 stars solely based on the inclusion of the first mix. Sure, it's ok but it really sounds no more different than every other watered down fluffy trance mix out there. Now, what lies within the second mix is a wholehearted return of the Oakenfold so many of us knew back in the day. Think back maybe, 10...no, 15 or so years to a time when psytrance was in its infancy. Think back to a time when Oakey was rockin' the beach in Goa...THIS is what that reminds me of every single time I play it. Spot on, seamless, mind-bending, psychedelic awesomeness!

It's been a long time since I've been excited to hear a mix from Oakenfold but he does not disappoint this time! Great upbeat tracks from many different electronic genres. Huge fan of dance music and been DJing for over 10 years and I would highly recommend this mix!
  • Oakey delivers what Oakey does best

A nice mix of uplifting trace, deep Goa and other groovy tracks. Upbeat without being too ravey, if that's a word. Nice to hear Goa isn't dead and Oakey still can put it out old skool. And what a bargain, so many tracks for a reasonable price. If you haven't seen him live lately I think he's back at the top of his game. And who ever said they had heard all this before, good for them because I haven't and I have almost all Oakeys albums.

Electronica has moved on, Paul. I don't need to spend this amount of money for music I have listened to, danced to and purchased time and time again over the last 15 years. The only "range" in this compilation is decade of release and BPM. You might as well try to sell me an Apple Newton, when I've already been through a bunch of iPhones. Time to hang up the headphones, mate. You should be remembered for your outstanding contributions to music back in the 90's. Not this.
