With most covers, you expect a chorus and a couple of instruments thrown in there to add some zing. Tompkins' creativity thrives here and his close eye to musical detail makes this cover of "Rolling In The Deep" much worth the buck. I highly recommend checking out his other covers... his work and style exceeds the typical sterotype of artist covers.

Hey Mike.. Thanks for doing this song! Congratulations! Ooh, and I love the video! Could I make a request? STUTTERING by Fefe Dobson! I'm sure that you will have fun with that song, and I can't wait for your video of that song, especially the stuterring part, LOL. Please Mike, try? More Power Mike Tompkins! Keep It Up!
  • A little nasally, but I still enjoy it

I agree with a PP that said this song sounds a bit nasally, the first minute or so Iin particular. Once it hit the chorus, it improves, and the rest of the song is good. But overall, this is not his best work. Having said that, I'm still going to listen to it and enjoy it, because I'm not really a total music snob !
  • Sub-par, especially compared to the original...

Dear Mike, when did you start singing through your nose and when did you stop using auto-tune (especially the first few lines of the song)? This really sounds quite awful and lacks any punch or soul. I'm a HUGE fan of yours, bought all the songs, and videos (Dynamite has 238 plays by me). Dig them all. But this song needs soul. It needs heart. And it needs a voice that can do it justice. Not all singers are created equal and I just don't think that this works at all for your vocal stylings. I'm sure everyone will hate this comment, but I just feel you missed the mark on this one. The video is a miss also. You look happy in it, like you're enjoying singing the song, your facial expressions are joyful. Well, this song is about heartache and breakup, you're not showing that side. Again, I'm just not seeing the video stylings to match up with the feel of the song. Sorry buddy, but this one is a miss for me. I'll anxiously await what comes next though. (Suggestion: Eve-Tambourine).

Mike Tompkins doesn't fail me in this song. This is one of his best so far. Lots of heart put in it.
