I just discovered this album! James can scat as well as his father. But let’s not talk about his father, as great as he was, because James is very much his own artist. I love this album. It ranks up there with anything I have as a favorite.

Listening to satelite radio I hear , "I want to rock with you"; I shazam to find out who is singing. I then go to I-tunes, listen to several tracks and have to buy the album! Wow, amazing.

I think in comparison to all successful jazz singers, like the greats Sinatra and Ella and to the new commers like Micheal Buble and Jane Monheit, there seems to be a central theme in common. They all have these rich, soulful, dare I say, velvty voices, while; James simply does not have that. Though I think his voice is pleasing, it does not belong in the Jazz realm. His cover of "Rock with Me" only proves the fact that his voice is much more suited for a pop genre. All and all he is more of a tenor and should embrace that fact in order to have a more promissing career. I hope he is not feeling as if he has to do jazz in order to have any sort of career, because his voice is definitely good, and I would hate to see it neglected in the wrong genre. I wish him success though, anything that gets people to stop listening to degrading lyrics is worth while.

This album rocks!!! What a breath of fresh air! It's nice to have someone bringing back the original songbook and mixing it with the new one! This album not only does his dad all of the justice in the world, but it also paves the way for what will be an over the top successful career for James!

Best Album I've heard by far this year! Hearing this Album makes me want Jazz to come back more glamorously into the industry. ^^
