Of Man

This is what a concept album should be. Reflective, soul-wrenching lyrics melded perfectly with music that supports each turn of phrase. Masterful. CHL has set a high standard for other artists to follow.

This album is raw, heavy, and shows and incredible depiction of the Jesus' pre-trial, trial, death, resurrection, and ascension. The music is incredibly moving and creates a wonderful mood, and the lyrics are so heavy as to be a challenge to listen to if you are not in the right mood. I gave this album to a couple friends (sorry ITunes) and while they were impressed, they couldn't get through it, it was too dark. If it hits you in the right time of your life, however, it's not dark at all, it's a bright shining light revealing a masterful interpretation of what Jesus went through during his last days on earth. Bravo!

This is an unbelievable album. It's the typical instrumental sound you would expect from Cool Hand Luke (which is great), but the progression of the songs through the final week is something to witness. The emotion and personality it injects into the stories is powerful.

Wow. What a powerful portrayal of the Passion. Very moving. I have never seen an album like this! This is a must-get album for Christains who like music. I would HIGHLY recommend it. We'll all be sad to see Cool Hand Luke go, but they sure left with a bang! Two thumbs WAY up Mark!

This album seamlessly takes you through the final days of Jesus told from the perspective of those in his life. The concept is a good one and the execution even better. The story really comes alive as you journey through each song. Musically Cool Hand Luke has never produced an album that flows so fluidly. This album is well worth the purchase.

Concept albums either work or they don't work. This album most definetly works in complimenting the Easter season as it follows Christ from His triumphal entry, to his cruel death on a cross, to His glorious resurrection. It almost serves as a soundtrack of the passion, causing the listener to consciously think seriously about the road Christ trod to sacrifice Himself and forgive the sins of many. Mark and the other contributers to this album have created a masterpeice that deserves many many listens. I am sad to know this is Cool Hand Luke's last album, but I am glad to see that they are leaving on such an high note. Stand out tracks include "Are You Coming?", "Goodbye for Now", the dark and haunting "A Garden in the Dark" (showcasing a medly of older CHL songs), and the epic "His Eyes" This is an important album and a must buy.
