Inspired by over a decade of performing around the globe with Yo-Yo Ma and the Silk Road Ensemble, Shane Shanahan’s debut album takes you on a rhythmic journey of discovery across cultures. Using an exotic collection of drums from Africa, India, the Middle East, Indonesia, Latin America, and the US, the music evokes nine diverse landscapes. The melodic layering of bamboo flutes, thumb pianos, vibraphone, Hang Drum and harmonic throat singing will transport you deeper into the heart of each musical destination.
