I so wish they made music like this today. Good solid rock with great lyrics and emotion. Classic album for sure. I still listen to it often after buying the CD almost 30 years ago!

I think it is so interesting to read the official iTunes reviews - they might as well just say “It’s pretty good if you like that 80’s rock crap.” I wore this tape out in high school. Back then the only Bad Company song I knew from the pre-Howe days was “Bad Company” which is an awesome song too, but in the 80’s if someone put on "Telegraph Road" I would have said “Turn that crap off!” I know there are a lot of folks who like to ignore the 80’s incarnation of Bad Company, but they didn’t just follow the formula, they nailed it on this album.

The itunes reviewer (probably Erlwine who is as short sighted as they come) doesn't give this album the kudos it deserves. The reason the album had several radio hits is not merely because Bad Company folllowed a tried and true formula, which it did. Rather, this late season success for Bad Company is due to an excellent cycle of songs. Anyone can follow a formula, but you gotta have the songs to back it up. And the songs are here. Probably one of the 3 most consistent albums from Bad Company. I enjoy it 23 years later.

The principle songwriter Mick Ralphs remains, but the formula is certainatly different. (ala Van Halen). And in rare cases like VH and Bad Co; these "second comings" are a good thing. Non the less this is one of the best rock albums from a "new 80s" band ever produced IMO. Their previous release of "Dangerous Age'" in retrospect could be classified as a sloppy warm-up session to this classic rocker. The only comparison I will make to original Bad Co is Malphs blistering guitar work here is probably his best to date and in addition to the overall production and Brian Howes vocals, makes this album a vivid standout. Well done.
