…and there's still nobody who can rival the Dillards. This is their first, a collection of brilliant coffee-house-and-student-union hits. "Dooley" is here and so is "Old Man at the Mill" -- a pretty hip bluegrass tune for its time. And of course "Duelin' Banjo": long before "Deliverance", Dean Webb and Doug Dillard made it the electrifying centerpiece of a truly entertaining folk-club performance. The line-up on this collection is pretty much what you got when you saw them live. A half-century has passed, and now of the originals only Rodney is still active, and he's still the brains of the outfit.
