I'm not sure Jim would agree but this, for my money, is Monkey Beat's best record. It's got a great mix of rockers and slower blues ("Prayin' For Rain"...awesome) and the title track feature Shawn Phares on a mean accordion! Highlights (many of which make it into the band's live set) include "Don' Do It", "Shotgun Shack", "Scattergun" and "I.O.U.". Jim Suhler's a guitar wizard and Carlton's one of the best bass players out there. It's a shame these guys haven't earned a bigger audience. See them live and you'll be stunned whether they're opening for a George Thorogood arena crowd or playing a local bar. Monkey Beat is a force to be reckoned with and "Bad JuJu" is a great place to start if you're not familiar with them.

stumbled upon jim suhler and monkeybeat accidentally. accidents can be beneficial. can't say enough about his music and the energy it produces. this album, and tijuana bible, is outstanding in every sense of the word. if you can sit still through their music.....you need your pulse checked. wish i could seem them live.
