Listen to these songs and you'll immediately find that Matt Perrone has an old soul; his love-lost lyrics and generous dipping into classic rock sonics prove that. but he's also unafraid to cross into folk, Americana and just a tinge of Nashville. fans of bon jovi, old 97s, bob dylan, the carpenters, the cure, bruce springsteen and related artists should have a good time with this.

Make Believe by Matt Perrone is just one more of a continuing string of excellent albums by this prolific singer/songwriter. What I particularly like are his lyrics. They have the feel of a Jim Croce, Harry Chapin, and (dare I say it) young Bob Dylan. He is a great story teller. It just amazes me that some agency hasn't tapped this young man for stardom. If he hasn't done so already, he ought to journey to "Music Mecca," Nashville and get himself signed to a songwriting contract. Keep up the good work!

I got this CD in the mail the other day and truly love it. From start to finish, it is a solid disc. The songs are easy to related to and sing along with. I always read reviews on iTunes where people rate the album track by track, so here we go. 1. All I Want - a simple track that begins the album off. It has a catchy melody but yet eases you into album and welcomes you to listen. 2. See You Next Tuesday - if you want a song that you can sing along to, it's this one. I feel like this has 80s rock anthem potential. 3. Valentine's Day - Possibly the most catchy song on the album. It brings in harmonica with a Ryan Adams vibe. 4. Time to Go - I heard this song a year ago when it was released as a single. Loved it then, love it now. 5. Memories & Photographs - this song has some great guitar work by Brian Fechino (of Pat McGee Band fame). It has a slight country vibe which is new for Perrone and I really like it. The song has a nice gradual build. And the lyrics are great. 6. Make Believe - the title track. Very Springsteen-esq. I love the saxophone. 7. Follow You - This is a very different track for Perrone. The harmony vocals are great. Overall, it's a great different direction for Matt. 8. Permission - This is a very relaxing song. To me, this is where I'd like to see the next album go - this and Time to Go. 9. Entering Washington - I LOVE IT!!!! I have the original version from Something I Wanted, which was just acoustic. This full band version is great! 10. All My Memories - The finale to the album. A great choice to end the CD. The piano is great. The string arrangement is haunting. The lyrics hit home. If you haven't heard of Matt Perrone, start here. You won't be disappointed.

The more I listen to these songs, the more I enjoy them. There is something special about all of Matt Perrone's songs. To me they are just very raw and easy to connect to. Listen to each song and see what he has to say...
