My first time to listen to the Philharmonic de Las Americas, but it certainly won't be the last. Absolutely fascinating. This was a great discovery...a real treasure. Thank you iTunes!

Good for Alondra. I liked this album a lot. It's so mexican, so vibrant, outstanding performance of all the artists. Bravo y Ole!. This is one of the best albums I have today. Congratulations to Alondra for such leadership.

A splendid, remarkable musical achievement. Inspiring, uplifting, full of playful energy and vitality, but at the same time, stoic, intelligent, gentle and above all, true in essence. This magnificent collection of masterpieces from some of Mexico's most renowned classic music composers from yesterday and today, offers a compelling array of sounds, rhythms and melodies that will engage the listener, in a transcendental musical dialogue of feelings and emotions, through the simple act of listening. Alondra de la Parra is making valuable strides through this material, not just in the world of orchestra direction, but outside of it as well. Without a doubt, a must have for any serious classic music collector that appreciates compelling and honest, top-quality work.

You must absolutely include this in your music collection! The Huapango may be a classic and it is done here in an extraordinary way, the essence of this piece is pure Mexico, however there are more treasures to discover in this album, Alondra de la Parra herself and my favorites Intermezzo de Atzimba, Sobre las Olas and the inspiring piece Concerto for Improvised Piano, II. This is a truly inspiring album that reflects the mexican soul. I can't wait for De La Parra's next project.
