Best album Paul did outside of Garfunkel. Beautiful lyrics and the music to each song perfectly crafted.
Thrift store gem, on vinyl in great shape.
- INCREDIBLE ALBUM!

In my opinion this is his best album ever! Totally unforgettable lyrics while the music just envelopes the senses- this album never gets old. It is like an old favorite friend. I have lost count of the times I've listened to it since I was 15 back in 1980.
I would name a few favorites but I actually love them all too much to pick and choose.

This album I have come to love bit by bit. I am a huge Paul Simon fan and first became aware of this album because of the song 'Long Long Day', but that was the only one I knew off of it. Then later came 'Late in the Evening' & 'One Trick Pony'... and then one day I found it on vinyl and have been listening to it almost constantly ever since. It really does get better each time I listen to it, and now it has become one of my favorite albums of Paul Simon's, if not of all time.
- good stuff

This is soundtrack album, believe it or not; "One-Trick Pony" was a film Simon wrote and starred in in 1980. The film wasn't awful, but it wasn't fabulous, either. This album, on the other hand, is really very good, with quite a range of themes and cadences. People remember "Late in the Evening," as they should, since it's a great tune, but there are some other wonderful tracks here, too, especially "Stranded in a Limousine," and followed closely by "Ace in the Hole and "One-Trick Pony," the title cut. And if you aren't moved by "Long, Long Day," then there's probably something amiss with your thumpin' gizzard.
It's an oldie but a goodie.

I think i might have been the only 14 year old listening to this album in 1995. The more i listened the better it got. "The only time love is an easy game is when someone else is playin' it." If you like Paul you better get this!
