Weekend In London (Remastered)

Dave, always wondered why Epic did not release "Your Turn to Cry" as a single......It was Top 10 material........great to hear this incredible album again.....thank you

Next to the Dave Clark Five's "Greatest Hits" LP, which is not yet on iTunes and which was the first LP that I bought as a kid, this is my favorite. It has some good rockers. I really like the way they tranformed "Blue Suede Shoes" and made it their own - the sax is fanatastic on it. I really have to thank you, Dave, for what you have released thus far and I hope that you will release some of the songs that are not currently on iTunes, including songs such as "Don't You Know," "Come On Over," and "That's What I Said."

I always thought We'll be Running was really a Ron Ryan song..but..I believe that extra voice is some studio singer they also used on previous early cuts like Zip-Uh-Dee-Doo Dah.although Mike told me he thought it was Lenny!

After listening to this album back in 1965, the first thing I thought was ....this is different from previous albums. It has great ballads such as "Hurting Inside" and "Remember It's Me" and some great rockers like "I'm Thinking" (the U.S. flip side of Reelin & Rockin') and "I'll Never Know". I also enjoy "We'll Be Running", with Lenny's guitar intro and Denny's saxophone, but does anybody know who the second voice is on this song? There are three covers here; all rockers (you can guess what they are); two of them are very short. I like the addition of "Reelin' & Rockin" here; it fits in nicely since the song was a single at the time this album was released. One other word of note: If you have the original vinyl record, you may notice that "Til the Right One Comes along' does not have the piano break in it. This version is the same as what you hear on "History of DC5". Anyway, if you are looking for some top notch Dave Clark Five music beyond the hits, this is a good one. I also recommend "I Like It Like That" and "Try Too Hard" - they make a great trifecta in your CD collection. Enjoy!

This album contains all of the original tracks, plus a bonus song (REELIN AND ROCKIN) that originally appeared on the More Greatest Hits album. If you're down in the dumps, this is a great album to put on, but don't just use it for "background white noise"! There is something about all of these songs that just pulls you into them. Listen to the amazing quality of the vocals, the powerful rimshot-driven drum parts, and the skillfull execution and arrangement of all the instruments: WE'LL BE RUNNING lifts you out of your chair; you want to get up and do something! I'M THINKING - the intro reminds me of the last few seconds of a building demolition countdown, where the suspense builds, the plunger is pushed down, and the building explodes! MIGHTY GOOD LOVIN - this one is so good, its the song that will be playing in your head first thing when you wake up the next morning. REMEMBER ITS ME - has a haunting use of reverb. Whether you're separated from a loved one (COME HOME), kicking yourself for a stupid mistake that you can't take back (HURTING INSIDE), bewildered because you're not sure what went wrong (I'LL NEVER KNOW), these songs will really ease your pain. When this album first came out, the DC5 immediately became my favorite band, and from that point on, I couldn't get enough of them! I so wish that Mike and Denny were still with us so they could hear me say thanks...Thank you, Dave Clark 5 for producing some of the best-listening music to come out of the 60s, and thanks, Dave, for making it available to us again!
