I'm gonna go out on a limb and say this is the Black & White Years' best release. Their first album was an explosion of wonderful beats and unique sounds; their newest, 'Patterns,' is a little harder, almost on the noisy side and more Depeche Mode-y in spots; but this middle child EP is a true gem. I can listen to it over and over, and it always makes me smile and want to dance from the first song to the end. Having seen them live, it makes it that much sweeter (they are every bit as entertaining on stage than on vinyl - more so!). I hope with their next album they go back in this happy electro-pop direction. Stay unique, boys!!!
